KIRKLAND KITCHEN

A kitchen remodel in the Finn Hill neighborhood of Kirkland, WA, for a growing young family.  Removing a wall between the dining room and kitchen areas created a beautiful modern kitchen with more light, storage, and counter space.  Though a complete open living plan wasn’t possible within the budget, similar results were achieved with careful planning.  For example, the new cabinet layout allowed for the budget-friendly retention of the existing oak floors in the kitchen.  Subsequent phases of renovation could include continuing the oak into the dining area and adding French doors that open to the backyard.  The new materials include Ikea cabinets, quartz counters, and white subway tile.
